The Other Big Play
Not much has been said about it but the biggest play Saturday night was not Brian Campbell knocking RJ Umberger into next season. It was not even Daniel Briere sending Sabres fans to the roof with his double OT heroics. It came in the first minute of the game. With the HSBC arena rocking and a group of playoff newcomers on the ice Henrik Tallinder may have saved the season when he knocked the puck away from a Peter Forsberg that was staring at an open net. If the Flyers score in the first minute the complexion of the game totally changes. How would a young team respond? How would Miller respond? Thankfully these are questions that did not need to be answered. Number 10 saved the day.
Tallinder was not the only one saving Miller's bacon. Jay McKee also had a couple of huge blocks including catching a shot from Mike Knuble between his arm and body when Miller was again out of position.
